What does a studio cost in major cities around the country?

The French term pied-à-terre translates to “a foot on the ground” and is said to refer in the late 1800s to a temporary or alternate place of lodging that was traditionally on the ground floor. In the American vernacular it is commonly used to describe an urban dwelling that is a secondary residence, but can be applied to any apartment, condo or loft in a city.
The pied-à-terre is about being in the thick of things where the action is and close to activities and transportation. Comps did the footwork and found studio properties in cities that have a concentrated metro area: Boston, Mass.; Denver, Colo.; Dallas, Texas; Minneapolis, Minn.; and New York, N.Y. These units do not, of course, come with any acreage, and the prices listed here do not include monthly dues to the home owners association (HOA).
